Five Atkinson residents were present, which are now the first five members of the Committee.  We discussed the nominations for Vice-Chairman and Secretary/Treasurer and decided to wait for more members to join, so there would be more candidates.  The “Marriage Rights” Peoples Referendum was discussed and anyone who wanted to volunteer to get signatures received the paperwork.  We wanted to change some of the wording in the bi-laws and discussed it for next month’s vote.

Third Meeting- July 7, 2009

There were many new faces at this meeting, including guests Rep. Paul and Patty Davis and Cynthia Izon.  We discussed the new Tax Law Petition and invited people to sign it before leaving.  We discussed changing the wording on the bi-laws to promote conservative voting, which did not pass because the wording in the bi-laws do not force a vote one way or the other.  The nominations for Secretary/Treasurer was once again tabled until we get more members.  We discussed organizing some fund raising events.
